Co-curricular activities play a crucial role in the holistic development of students. These activities contribute to the physical, mental, social, and emotional growth of children beyond the academic curriculum. Some common Co-curricular activities include
  • Sports: Sports activities include soccer (football), netball, athletics, volleyball, basketball, and rugby. These activities promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills among students.
  • Music and Dance: We often encourage participation in music and dance activities, such as traditional dances, choir singing, drumming, and playing musical instruments like xylophones, drums, and flutes. These activities celebrate cultural diversity and promote artistic expression.
  • Drama and Theater: Drama clubs provide students with opportunities to participate in theatrical performances, including skits, plays, and cultural performances. Drama activities help develop confidence, public speaking skills, creativity, and teamwork.

Other Co-curricular activities include

  • Debating and Public Speaking: Debating clubs offer students opportunities to engage in structured debates and public speaking competitions. These activities enhance critical thinking, research skills, persuasive communication, and the ability to articulate ideas effectively.
  • Scouting and Guiding: We have scouting and guiding clubs affiliated with organizations like the Uganda Scouts Association and the Uganda Girl Guides Association. These clubs promote outdoor activities, leadership development, community service, and character-building through camping, hiking, and other adventurous pursuits.
  • Community Service: Some schools engage students in community service projects, such as environmental conservation initiatives, clean-up campaigns, visiting the elderly, or volunteering at local organizations. These activities instill values of empathy, social responsibility, and citizenship among students.
  • ICT Clubs: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) clubs provide students with opportunities to develop computer literacy skills, learn coding, and explore digital creativity through activities like robotics, programming, and multimedia production.
  • Art and Craft: Art and craft clubs encourage students to explore their creativity through activities such as drawing, painting, pottery, weaving, and beadwork. These activities promote fine motor skills, self-expression, and appreciation for visual arts.
  • Entrepreneurship Clubs: We have the entrepreneurship club aimed at teaching students about business concepts, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial skills. Students may engage in small business projects, such as selling homemade products or organizing fundraising events.
  • Literary and Writing Clubs: Literary clubs provide platforms for students to develop their reading, writing, and storytelling skills. Activities may include book clubs, writing workshops, storytelling sessions, and participating in literary competitions.
